The city of Münster calls itself a volleyball stronghold, with good reason. It is the only national volleyball training base (Bundesstützpunkt) in North Rhine-Westphalia, USC Münster plays in the women's Bundesliga, and according to the city there are 48 beach volleyball courts in Münster. A dedicated beach volleyball hall has been under construction on Grevener Straße since August 2026, mainly for elite players.
If you study at the University of Münster, Hochschulsport is the obvious first stop. On Horstmarer Landweg it has a ball sports hall, a beach facility that closes from October to March, and even a padel court. In summer it runs a Beach Club with weekly sessions, booked through the Hochschulsport app. Courses and clubs run on fixed schedules, though, and the programme is aimed at students first of all.
An open game fits in between: you just play, with no membership and no fixed team. There isn't one on TheQuickSport in Münster yet. With your account you can create the first one as a free starter game with up to 24 players, and it goes live straight away. If a few friends are already in, add them and the game only shows the open spots. Share the link with your course, your flat or your office. In summer, two of the four beach courts at Sportpark Berg Fidel are open to the public.
Indoor games need hall time. Club bookings of the city's sports facilities go through the Sportamt, and the city even publishes the booking schedules of its sports halls as open data. If your game becomes a regular slot with a fee, the organiser platform is the next step: no commission on the game fee, players pay upfront online, and waiting lists, reminders and payouts are handled for you. Until then, the nearest running games are in Enschede, under an hour and a half away on the RB 64 with no change.
